CENK Journal

About the Journal

CENK: A Journal of Defence, Security, and Strategy is a Türkiye-based journal that aims to be an interdisciplinary, multilingual, and global reference source on defense, security, and international strategy. Our journal is a publishing platform that focuses on scientific rigor with its double blind review system and facilitates access to information with its open access principle.

CENK will feature original, seminal, and guiding academic studies in fields such as defense industry policies, security studies, international relations, and strategy. CENK aims to make Türkiye's strategic wisdom visible on the regional and global stage through research that contributes to political decision-making processes and analyzes the ancient and the contemporary. In addition to contributing to strategy studies in Türkiye, CENK also aims to evaluate the theoretical and practical debates in the field on a global scale and to discuss the Türkiye case in comparison with different geopolitical contexts.

CENK is committed to making academic contributions to Türkiye's foreign policy, defense industry, and security architecture. With this mission, our publications will be a primary resource for academics, policymakers, defense industry representatives, researchers, students, and others interested in the field. In addition, we aim to deepen Türkiye's academic accumulation in the field of defense industry and fill the intellectual gap in this field with an interdisciplinary approach in our journal, which will also undertake the effort to expand the potential and opportunities of qualified publishing by blending universal knowledge with a national perspective.

CENK focuses on defense policies, security studies, strategic thinking, military transformations, cyber security, hybrid threats, regional crises, intelligence studies, and military-diplomatic relations. In addition to original articles based on both qualitative and quantitative research methods, the journal will also include theoretical analyses and book reviews. CENK will be published in Turkish and English in two issues per year, on June 30 and December 30. The journal welcomes contributions from experts, academia, and researchers in the defense industry.

The Journal of Defense, Security and Strategy Studies (CENK) continues its publication life as a Türkiye-based academic platform, aiming to produce references on a global scale through its interdisciplinary approach and multilingual publication policy. The studies included in this issue address contemporary debates in the field of security and strategy not only in their technical or military dimensions, but also through their historical, ideological, legal, and ethical contexts, thereby offering an interdisciplinary intellectual framework. In particular, how state, sovereignty, identity, security, and power relations take shape in different geographies are opened to discussion through comparative and critical perspectives.
